Red Earth Art Collections: The style, including the rich colors, the flowing curves, the long neck, the angular features and posture is similar to early 20th century Art Nouveau. This is a recognized avant garde artistic style in China called "The Yunnan School", which originated in Yunnan Province, seen in paintings, tapestries, carvings, porcelain, etc. This style is also sometimes referred to as "Hong Tu Zhong Cai"...the "Red Earth Rich Color" School of Painting. The subjects are usually minority nationalities of Yunnan Province in their native costumes.
