This 18" "princess" strand of cultured matched freshwater black pearls was personally selected and hand carried from China. The pearls are very round, black, or black with bluish overtone, 5.5 - 6.0 mm, graduated very slightly clasp to center. The strand is extremely well-matched and luster high, as obvious in the photo. The pearls are individually double-knotted by hand on a nylon strand, superior to silk for strength and durability.

The strand is attached to the clasp with a "French twist" - a coiled 14k wire which is stylish and improves on wear and tear. The clasp is 14k gold (stamped), a delicate, elegant gold filigree ovoid style with safety catch. Necklace packaged in attractive embroidered silk purse.

These black pearls are color-enhanced by a radiation process. (All black/black freshwater pearls are color enhanced ... As opposed to Tahitian black sea pearls, for example.)
