These are very large black cultured freshwater pearls, quite unique, round to near round, beautifully matched and with excellent luster, visible in the photos. The strand is double-knotted, 24 in. in length, including clasp. It is very slightly graduated, the pearls 8.5-9.0mm in diameter. The strand is attached to the clasp with a "French twist" - a coiled 14k wire which is stylish and improves on wear and tear. The clasp is also large, suitable for the size/weight of the necklace. It is yellow gold 14k, 9mm, a round filigree style, with safety catch.

These black pearls are color-enhanced by a radiation process. (All black/black freshwater pearls are color enhanced ... As opposed to Tahitian black sea pearls, for example.)
